Thomas Hardy's classic tale of rural love ,
featuring a poor tranter's son, a rich farmer and the local vicar and
the comely new school mistress was produced and directed by Stella
Abbey. Using various but adjacent parts of the village for the various
outdoor scenes, the large audience trooped from one setting to another
as the plot unfolds. The cast was large ,which included a live lamb, many villagers and a group of children, who can be seen waiting to take part in one of the photographs below. |
