WINSHAM STREET FAIRS

Winsham Street Fair was started in1985, with its roots in a long tradition in Winsham of carnivals and similar celebrations. Unfortunately no photographs of this event seem to be available, but we do have details of the organisation that went into this first of the street fairs to be held in Winsham since the seventeenth century. To see these very interesting documents CLICK HERE. It  has continued since, more or less uninterrupted, settling into a pattern of once every two years, usually held on the last Saturday of June. The success of the event is heavily dependant on the weather, although even during the worst rainfall, the crowds that come from a wide surrounding area, invariably enjoy themselves.
